• All Karisma hotels recycle trash, glass and plastic bottles. In the 1st half of 2010 over 85,000 pounds of glass, 28,000 pounds of paper, 33,500 pounds of plastic and 78,000 pounds of aluminum were recycled!
• El Dorado Royale has its own water treatment and recycling plant.
• The El Dorado Royale runs on 70% solar power.
• El Dorado Seaside is now more than 80% solar powered.
• El Dorado Maroma is one of the few hotels anywhere that runs on 100% solar power.
• All Karisma laundry rooms use chemical free detergents that are not harmful to the environment.
• The El Dorado & AZUL Spas use eco-friendly (Green) products
• The executive chef's garden (over 1 1/2 acres in size!) is producing more than 4 tons of vegetables & herbs per month! Extra produce that is not utilized by the hotels is sold at greatly reduced rates to the hotel's staff members.
• In 2011 the hot water systems at El Dorado Royale are being converted to a 'super inverter' system.
